Owner Mohammad “Moe” Alhayek came to the United States from Jordan in 2017 with $700. He washed dishes, cut hair and shoveled snow, worked his way up to cook, and in 2025 opened a kitchen of his own on Springfield Pike.
Days before the grand opening, the restaurant was broken into and about $35,000 of equipment destroyed. Moe cleaned up and opened anyway.
